At Dean and Grey Care, our mantra is that everything we do in our community is underpinned with the utmost dignity, respect, and privacy. It is not just what we believe in — it is our way of life.

We are a small, family-run organization licensed by the California Department of Social Services to operate two six-bed Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly in Carmichael. Both homes sit on North Avenue, next door to each other, on a quiet residential street.

Because each home houses just six residents, our caregivers come to know every person well — their history, their preferences, the way they take their coffee, the music that lifts them on a hard day. That intimacy is the whole point. It is what allows us to deliver care that feels like care, not service.

What we believe

Dignity first. Every interaction begins with respect for the person, not the diagnosis.
Independence where possible. Our job is to assist with what is hard and step back from what is not.
Family is welcome. Visiting hours are flexible, and we encourage families to share meals, holidays, and ordinary days.
Honest conversations. We talk openly about care needs, costs, and end-of-life wishes, because clarity is kindness.

Karl and Debbie Ramos

Dean and Grey Care is owned and run by Karl and Debbie Ramos — a husband-and-wife team whose backgrounds in service and healthcare shape every part of how our homes are run.

Karl Ramos

Co-owner · U.S. Air Force, Iraq Veteran

Karl served in the United States Air Force, including a tour in Iraq, where discipline, accountability, and looking out for the people beside you were not slogans but daily practice. He brings that same steadiness to Dean and Grey Care — making sure the homes are safe, well-kept, and quietly running the way they should.

For Karl, caring for elders is its own form of service. His Air Force commitment to service, accountability, and looking out for others defines how we operate — from the way families are greeted to the final walk-through at the end of each day.

Debbie Ramos

Co-owner · Registered Nurse

Debbie is a Registered Nurse with years of bedside experience, and her nursing background shapes the standards we hold for resident well-being and quality of care across both homes. From medication ordering to coordinating with each resident’s physicians and specialists, she makes sure the care plan in our homes is accurate, current, and genuinely tailored to the person.

Families often tell us they sleep better at night knowing a nurse is involved in the day-to-day. That is Debbie’s standard, and it is the standard she has built into our team.

Together, Karl and Debbie live and work alongside the residents and caregivers in our community. It is the reason Dean and Grey Care feels less like a facility and more like a home.
